Musical Theatre at MGA

As a ‘triple threat’ student you will have opportunity to build up your weaker areas of performance as well as discover and develop your strengths. You’ll be challenged to step outside your comfort zone, and expected to rise to these challenges both on an individual level and as part of an ensemble. We will help you understand what is expected of you as a performer throughout your training as you develop the skills and stamina needed to secure – and maintain – employment in the industry.

Through productions and presentations you’ll experience the wonderfully diverse and colourful world of musical theatre, from classic and popular shows through to new writing and cabaret performance. Classes offer a good grounding across core body and voice skills alongside industry basics such as audition technique. Through our ever-expanding industry network and a fabulous group of tutors we constantly have a finger on the pulse of the international musical theatre scene, so we’re always exploring new material and welcoming visiting artists from around the world.

Course content

This course consists of three years of top-quality training within a musical theatre context, focusing on the transition from technique-based classes to performance-based work.
